Niagara Ukrainian Family Festival
Це грандіозний Фестиваль Української родини, який пройшов із шаленим успіхом у Ніагарі у 2023 році. Українські костюми та різноманітні вишиванки прикрашали фестиваль. Грандіозна дитяча ігрова, де волонтери прикрашали обличчя дітей, ігри, призи, надувні батути і все це безкоштовно. Бачити щасливі обличчя дітей, багато з яких нещодавно прибули до Канади і в них ще в пам’яті бомбосховища та страшні картини війни. Усмішки дітей це найвища нагорода цього фестивалю. Сцена та знамениті артисти недодавали ні кому нудьгувати. Місцеві дитячі ансамблі могли показати свою майстерність та здобути нагороди. Чудова українська їжа та напої. Місцеві майстри та продавці Української атрибутики та одягу представляли та продавали свою продукцію на ярмарку.
Барбекю хотдоги та багато іншого, було просто приголомшуючи чудово.
Пройшов рік і багато хто дзвонить і запитує, а будимо ми організовувати цей фестиваль цього року 2024. Так обов’язково, вед, ця подія Niagara Ukrainian Family Festival Усі чекають і ми звичайно готуемось.
Niagara Ukrainian Family Festival
This is a grandiose Ukrainian Family Festival, which was held with overwhelming success in Niagara in 2023. Ukrainian costumes and a variety of embroidered shirts decorated the festival. A grandiose children’s playground, where volunteers painted children’s faces, games, prizes, inflatable trampolines, and all this was free. Seeing the happy faces of children, many of whom have recently arrived in Canada and still have memories of bomb shelters and terrible pictures of the war. In my opinion, the smiles of children are the highest reward of this festival. There was no one to be bored with the stage and famous artists. Local children’s ensembles could show their skills and receive awards. Great Ukrainian food and drinks. Local craftsmen and sellers of Ukrainian paraphernalia and clothing presented and sold their products at the fair.
The BBQ hotdogs and more were absolutely stunning.
A year has passed and many people call and ask if we will organize this festival this year in 2024. Yes, of course, the Lyuli are waiting for and preparing for this event, the Niagara Ukrainian Family Festival.
History
The Niagara Ukrainian Family Festival was founded in 2023 by three organizers: St. Mary’s Ukrainian Church, and Niagarka Organization.
The idea for the festival came unexpectedly. All the organizers were waiting for their children, who attend classes with the Ukrainian dance ensemble Dunai Dance Ensemble in St. Catharines.
The goal of the festival is to bring together local groups from the Niagara region and to welcome new families who arrived in our area while fleeing the war in Ukraine, helping them feel a sense of belonging to the community.
Everyone worked very hard to prepare for the festival, and the results were amazing. The event welcomed over 1,000 guests. Fifteen local and guest singing and dance groups entertained visitors. Guests enjoyed traditional Ukrainian food prepared with care by our dedicated church community. There were inflatable castles for young children, face painting, and a lively market where talented vendors presented Ukrainian gifts and handmade crafts.
The Niagara Ukrainian Family Festival was attended by local councillors Mona Patel and Ruth Ann Nieuwesteeg, as well as federal Member of Parliament Tony Baldinelli.
