The Ukrainian Theatre “Niagarka” is a creative community of Ukrainian artists, actors, and volunteers united by a shared passion for culture, storytelling, and connection. Together, we bring the warmth, humor, and soul of Ukrainian traditions to audiences across Canada.
Founded on April 6, 2024, in Niagara Falls with the support of the non-profit Niagarka Organization, the theatre was created as a space where Ukrainian culture could live, evolve, and be shared with the wider community.
Our mission is to preserve and promote Ukrainian heritage through contemporary theatrical performances that inspire, entertain, and unite people of all ages. We believe theatre is more than art — it is a bridge between generations, a source of joy, and a powerful expression of identity.
Our debut production, inspired by Nikolai Gogol’s Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka, reimagines Ukrainian folklore in a modern and engaging way. Filled with music, dance, humor, and audience interaction, the performance brings to life characters who embody the Ukrainian spirit — witty, brave, kind, and full of heart.
Ukrainian Theatre “Niagarka” collaborates with local artists, musicians, and cultural organizations to create community-driven performances and events for children and adults alike. From festive plays and holiday celebrations to charity performances, our work brings people together through the beauty of Ukrainian art.

Mission
The mission of Niagarka is to promote Ukrainian folk and theatrical culture in Canada and around the world by preserving cultural heritage while presenting it in a modern and engaging form. We aim to inspire and involve youth in national theatrical arts through creative, relevant, and accessible performances.
By reimagining works of renowned Ukrainian writers in contemporary settings and interpretations, we bridge tradition and modern reality—bringing Ukrainian stories to life for today’s audiences.
